Many of you have mentioned legendary Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi in your comments. I am pleased to let you know that IGA is most definitely involved in the movie. He has been consulting with us and reviewing all of our creative materials since we began discussing and developing the project almost 2 years ago. More on his involvement and an update on the status of the production in a post later this week. → 14 CommentsTags: Production Blog FAN ADVISORS? We’ll be continuing to take submissions and look at portfolios for at least the next few weeks so if you haven’t submitted yet and want to, there is still time. If you have already sent your portfolio and haven’t heard from us, don’t worry, we’ll be in touch once all of the submissions are in and have been reviewed. So far we have received submissions from artists in the US, Australia, France, Brazil, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK. → 3 CommentsTags: Production Blog ARTISTSJanuary 24th, 2007 · 14 CommentsI received an email from an artist yesterday looking for work on the movie and asking if we have chosen an animation studio yet. We are in the early stages of production and have not chosen a studio and won’t be hiring the majority of our artists until later this year. However, we will be starting visual development for the movie in February and will be looking for a limited number of character and creatures designers, background designers, and background painters to establish the look and style of the movie. If you are a great artist, Castlevania is your favorite video game of all time, and you think you have what it takes to help make our movie great, then send a link to your online portfolio or send a digital copy of your portfolio to belmont@castlevaniadraculascurse.com. Even better, send us your portfolio and really impress us by including some specific Castlevania pieces. Positions are limited. The production is based in Southern California but you do not need to live here or move here for these positions. → 14 CommentsTags: Production Blog WELCOMEJanuary 22nd, 2007 · 20 CommentsWelcome to the production blog for the upcoming animated movie based on the classic Konami video game, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. In the coming weeks and months this will be your source for exclusive behind-the-scenes news and information on the production. We have a great creative team in place with award winning writer Warren Ellis working on the script and Eisner Award winning artist James Jean set to art direct and begin visual development in February. Check back here often for posts from Warren, James, and other members of the production team. A special thanks to Chris McDonnell for the design and set-up of the site. |
